In my practice the wide range of people usually require only a few sessions. This turns their life around. They feel that they can move on with more freedom and optimism.
Yildiz Sethi has developed ways that provide positive results in only a few sessions.
She is the psychotherapist who has founded and trademarked:
Yildiz is also a Systemic Family Constellations therapist and trainer.
What is the trauma recovery model Emotional Mind Integration (EMI)
A powerful way of resolving a wide range of deep personal issues from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, conflicts, self-esteem to recovery of trauma and sexual abuse and relationships.
Example of EMI trauma treatment model:
Let’s look at a fairly typical case. John seeks the help of a mental health professional for his depression.
Six years ago his relationship fell apart and he lost his home in the ensuing financial settlement. About a year later he was diagnosed with depression.
For John, 3 sessions of EMI was sufficient for recovery of his depression and associated issues. This has been the experience with many such clients over years of practice.
What is the trauma recovery model?
EMI covers many bases in one unified approach. It is psychodynamic (in locating the cause), emotionally-focused, person-centred, experiential, solution-focused and brief. It may be used to resolve disturbed emotional-mind states quickly and sensitively. These include:
- panic attack
- low self-esteem
EMI helps resolve and recovery from a wide range of traumas including:
- domestic violence
- sexual abuse
- sexual assault
- the underlying dynamics of addiction
More complex issues may require more sessions.
The need for a new approach and model for trauma / sexual assault / sexual abuse recovery
There are problems with the existing model and trauma treatments for sexual assault and sexual abuse. There are many organisations that adopt the medical model approach to sexual assault and trauma. This involves long term therapies. These are often cognitive behavioural therapies, art therapies, a wide range of talk therapies, EMDR and support groups. The processes Yildiz uses are short term and effective.
Re-telling the story can re-traumatise and leave the person stuck. The trauma treatment model Yildiz uses does not traumatise the client.
With Yildiz trauma treatment model way of working, people may progress over time from victim to survivor and from surviving to thriving. They get on with lives to some extent. However, if not treated they often:
- suffer low self-esteem
- find it difficult to maintain good relationships
- frequently suffer depression and anxiety
- other mental health issues including substance abuse
Yildiz’s processes help with resolving the above issues and help in the trauma recovery.
In the development of EMI, Yildiz has formed a modality that spans the hypnotic and psychotherapeutic arenas that are specific, in targeting the source of an issue, a resolution and integration within a session in clearing one neural pathway at a time.
