Emotional Mind Integration training
The Emotional Mind Integration modality
- Requires an interview process a little like the Family Constellations and NLP to ‘nut out’ the core issue that the client is dealing with.
- Uses a trance to relax the conscious mind.
- Entails EMI Body sensing to regress the client to the beginning of the issue
- Uses a series of EMI techniques to make sure the client is not re-traumatised. Safety is a top priority
- Completion of relevant unfinished business for that issue
- Uses naturally occurring healing EMI pathways for resolving or releasing any ‘fight or flight’ responses or trauma in self-healing.
- Integrates with an EMI process into the body and mind
All in one session.
Only 3-5 sessions are required for complex issues for more than 90% of the population because these often require 3-5 different neural pathways to be cleared for complex issue. Human beings are multifaceted. This is for most of the population but not for those suffering serious DSM5 issues such as schizophrenia etc.
Emotional Mind Integration is the latest neurotherapy
Perfect for trauma and resolving a huge range of personal issues that modern men and women face.
Emotional Mind Integration training
Emotional Mind Integration has been developed from the best of the past with the latest in neuroscience and mind science, Resolves disturbances in a way that former approaches were not equipped to do in an efficient way. This is because each of the former approaches didn’t have the information or the skills and techniques available today.
Brief History of mental health developments
- Psychoanalysis/psychodynamic 1940-60’s approach proposed that what is held or repressed in the unconscious mind is key to resolving the issue. -Introduction of talk therapy.
- Carl Jung approaches 1940-60’s involving dreams, imagination, the spiritual and the many sides of us that are important to integrate for good mind health. A range of techniques.
- Humanistic approaches 1940-60’s with their focus on how we make meaning as sentient, conscious beings dealing with emotions, life, death, impermanence, choice, freedom, responsibility and relationship are important . Human beings contain all the resources they need for finding their own solutions and perspectives primarily through talk and experiential therapies. Gestalt, Existential, Carl Rogers Talk therapies.
- Ericksonian Hypnotherapy developed by Milton Errickson 1940-60’s using patients problems and personal resources and imagination to assist them in finding their own solutions.
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) 1950-60’s was developed to be more scientific than previous methods and provide shorter term treatment that was more practical for the masses. CBT was developed to identify faulty thoughts and actions and manage symptoms and behaviour often with medication. This approach has a wide range of processes to measure dysfunction and function and is part of the medical model of mental health treatment. CBT has included mindfulness in recent years.
- Art, play and sand play started in 1960’s primarily out of Gestalt therapies and continues to develop
- Solution focused therapies 1970’s-80’s
- NLP is a combination of many approaches starting with Milton Erickson to 1972
- Emotionally focused therapies 1980’s
- Narrative therapies 1990’s
There are many more modalities that are too numerous to mention here. Much more detail of the development, research methodologies and its challenges, neuroscience and what it means for today’s therapists, case studies and transcripts are to be found in my book Rapid Core Healing (2016) Sethi, Y.
While each methodology has value it has been found through neuroscience that what ‘wires together, fires together’ for faster healing and change to occurs. It has been found that working with several aspects together is more effective that working with one or a few only.
Emotional Mind Integration training. The focus of the following approaches is:
- Psychodynamic /psychoanalytic. Finding the original problem or trauma through talk therapy or dissociation and other techniques. Long term therapy, often years.
- Focusing on the ‘hear and now’ of the human condition, and giving space for awareness through the story, processing feelings and finding new perspectives. Medium to Long term therapy, often years.
- Cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT) focus on faulty thinking and understanding cognitions and behaviour and attempting to manage or change them with techniques or strategies and with the aid of medication. CBT and the medical model continue to hold the belief that once the brain or mind is damaged it can’t be fixed but only managed, according to the USA psychiatrist Norman Doidge in TheBrain’s way of Healing (2015). CBT often requires sets of 8-12 sessions.
- Narrative therapy in guiding the client to reframe and reshape their story by looking at it from different perspectives so that a more positive life-affirming one may emerge. Variable therapy time
- Emotionally focused approaches. Focus on emotions primarily in order to process them and hopefully arrive at a better place. Variable therapy time
- Imaginative and art therapies. Engage the right brain to tap into creativity so that inspiration and insight on present problems may emerge. Variable therapy time
- Solution focused approaches. Focus on problem solving, but does not deal with core issues or emotional states. Short term
- Hypnotherapy and NLP. Focus on the unconscious mind and making positive suggestions for change. There are many approaches here, direct suggestions, indirect suggestions, the use of metaphors. The problem here is that many techniques lack a cohesive understanding of how the human mind, heart and soul works and what makes people tick and what, why and how particular techniques make a difference. Short term
While all of these modalities are valuable in their particular focus and their belief about what is required to help people function or recover, how much more valuable would it be if these areas of focus, could be incorporated into one modality in a way that provides deep resolutions and change AND quickly?
This involves many levels of experience and awareness firing together in one process. For each issue many layers such as the conscious, unconscious, senses, somatic sensations, emotions, mind and bodily trapped trauma, the completion of relevant unfinished business, finding solutions and integrating in a way that is non traumatising. Such a modality may be used in the recovery of depression, anxiety, the underlying dynamics of addiction, conflict, low self-esteem, recovery of trauma and sexual abuse and much more.

Those who have done this course say it has transformed the way they perceve clients and their issues and has given them the skills and confidence to help their clients in a meaningful way in the brief approach of EMI Emotional Mind Integration.
